About Lily Spandorf Art
Lily Spandorf was born in Vienna, Austria in 1914. She studied art at the College of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria. After leaving her native land, she traveled to other parts of Europe where her artistic talent was celebrated. In 1959, Spandorf came to the United States where she continued to gain tremendous support and appreciation for her art. Her love for Washington, D.C. was obvious in the huge amount of art depicting the beautiful city and landscapes in Washington, D.C. United States Presidents became familiar with Lily Spandorf and requested her work for the White House and to give to visiting dignitaries. Lily Spandorf Art is currently home to US Presidents, the White House Historical Society, the Smithsonian Institute, the Senate Library, foreign ministers, and everyday admirers. Lily Spandorf died in Washington, D.C. in 2000. Her legacy lives on in her beautiful art. All Lily Spandorf art seen on this site is available for purchase as originals.
